Since 1990, INVIDEO (Milan, Italy), an international exhibition of video and cinema beyond, has established itself as an international benchmark for the full range of audiovisual production connected to electronic art and new technologies. From the outset, the aim has been to create a permanent archive of non-fiction art from around the world, including video art, research and experimental works, documentaries, theatre and dance video, music and portraits, in Milan.
There is an annual event showing a rich and varied programme of screenings that gives a truly global—but never uniform—picture of the world and its mutations and explores new languages of expression and new audiovisual horizons. During this event, INVIDEO also schedules meetings with video makers, gives introductory presentations to premieres, offers debates and presents retrospectives, performances and video installations.
Throughout the year, the collection is available for consultation at the Fabbrica del Vapore, where it is stored. In recent years, INVIDEO has also focused its attention to the promotion of video makers and their films in Italy and Europe.
